The weather station is running on solar power. Sample rate has been increased to 30 seconds.
04-09-2014 the solar radiation sensor has bee replaced.
There is a problem with the grassmin sensor.
Wind speed and direction readings resumed 12-29-2013 13:15.
Wind speed and direction readings will resume when I can get the replacement instrument put up. The pole snapped in the storm on the 12-23-2013 some time before midnight.
On 27, 28 and 29 March 2013, grassmin readings have been affected by wild life activity.
06-27-2009 - between 19:45 and 21:00 some data have been lost due to power failure.
Wind speed and direction data between 12:45 and 14:00 are invalid due to instrument being replaced.
RH data are being reinstated from 0015 on 09-24-2008 with readings taken from a Vaisala RH sensor.
The yearly rainfall totals for 1995, 1996 and 2001 have been corrected due to errors created during compilation. There are no known errors in the raw data from which the totals were compiled.
09-15-2006 00:15 RH readings have been suspended.
09-10-2006 00:15 - RH readings are being reinstated.
08-14-2006 00:15 RH readings have been suspended due to problem with the sensor.
06-09-2006 00:15 - RH readings reinstated.
05-21-2006 00:15 RH readings suspended pending re-calibration.
03-24-2006 00:15 - RH readings are re-instated after minor repair.
02-17-2006: RH readings are suspect - being investigated.
11-21-2005 00:15 - RH readings are not available due to instrument being sent for service.
From 1 July 2005 at 00:15, the grass minimum data will be included in the temperature group of the Current Data. Also, the sunshine hours readings are being moved to the solar radiation group in the same file.
02-09-2005 10:15 to 10:45 grass min data missing due to loose wire in sensor.
01-24-2005 - between 1315 and 1800, wind speed and direction are invalid, and solar radiation and pressure readings should be treated with caution. All other readings are ok - they have been taken from my standby weather station. Problem due to human error - logger ran out of memory.
11-14-2004 - Between 0545 and 1000 the Solar Radiation readings are incorrect - cause unknown.05-31-2004 00:15 - RH readings are being reinstated.
05-30-2004 00:15 - Unreliability of grass min temperatures now corrected.
05-28-2004 00:15 - Grass min data unreliable due to intermittent fault.
05-10-2004 00:15 - from this date the RH readings will no longer be available due to sensor failure. The RH readings will resume as soon as possible.
05-06-2004 - There may be a problem with the RH readings. Possible fault being investigated.
From 04-27-2004 00:15 the overnight grass minimums are invalid due to on-going logger maintenance and relaying of cables. The readings are expected to be correct again from 1 May 2004.
RM Young wind instrument on roof in need of service has been replaced as of 27 April 2004 at 1200 gmt. Wind speed and direction data on 27 April 2004 at 1115 to 1200 are invalid.
04-07-2004 00:15 - RH and dewpoint data available once again after sensor repair and calibration.
As from 03-24-2004 00:15 - the RH and dewpoint data will be unavailable until further notice due to failure of sensor.
01-01-2004 00:15 - From now on, the RH data will no longer be included in the grass min data. It can be found in the daily data.
19:30 - 24 November 2003 - Due to wear on bearings of the R M Young wind instrument, the threshold readings are slightly raised. This will be corrected just as soon as I can get up the pole to replace the instrument.
A dewpoint is now being calculated from air temperature and RH raw readings at the time of logging using the formula:-
td = t + (13.2 + 0.8) * log(rh / 100)
These readings are available as from 1 January 2003, but are not included in the daily data.
The RH readings are being included in the daily data file as from 3 August 2003 after a period of testing. The RH data for August 2002 to August 2003 can be found in the Grass Min and Rh data file.
The grass min and RH file has been split in two - January to June and July to December.
07-01-2003 00:15 mean air pressure is now being logged.
As from 15 March 2003, a "RH and Grass Min" data page has been added.
Due to the data logger being used for testing instruments and software settings, some entries for this page may be missed. An upload of this file will be made at least once a day.
As from January 1 2003, the daily log of sunshine totals will be a continuous file with the monthly totals at the top.
From 1 January 2003, changes are being made to the daily stats file:-
The name of the month is being removed.
The current format of the date is being replaced with month and day.
Solar radiation is being replaced with sunshine hours.
Note: Where a "*" appears in the data against a ".xx" sunshine entry, it means that the duration is in seconds.
As of 07-22-2002 00:00, Sunshine Hours have been added to the data uploaded to the site.
All times GMT.
From 09/01/2001 logging of daily sunshine hours was begun after a period of testing.
On 10/22/2001 the entries for 12:15 to 12:45 are missing due to temporary failure of the logger.
from 5 July 1996 at 1600 (when the instrument was struck by lightning) until 14 August 1997 at 1200 gmt, the wind direction data is invalid. The wind speed data was lost for only one day, working normally once more from 6 July 1996 at 2000 gmt.
